CONTEMPORARY WORLD ARCHITECTURE is a new book: this page gives a basic outline of it, plus links to reviews, extracts, and other links to pages within and without this site.

Researched and written by Hugh Pearman, designed by Thomas Manss and Company, and published by the Phaidon Press on August 20, 1998, Contemporary World Architecture is a critical anthology of 13 building types. It covers the period 1970 to 2000, with explanatory forays further back into history.

Contemporary World Architecture has been three years in the making: it is a comprehensive survey of international architecture at the Millennium. Some 660 buildings and projects are described over 512 pages, with 1,000 colour and 211 black and white illustrations. New French, German and Chinese editions in 2003.
